As a mother of a young daughter, Stephanie first became involved with Girls Inc. of Durham because she wanted to create connection for her daughter while better understanding the needs and experiences of today’s youth. She quickly came to see Girls Inc. as more than an organization—it is a safe space where girls and women can invest in themselves, discover their strengths, and feel empowered to take risks.

With more than 20 years of experience in large-scale events, Stephanie brings strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to pivot when things don’t go as planned. She especially loves Girls Inc. events and seeing firsthand the incredible impact a community can make when it comes together to support girls.

Stephanie hopes to see Girls Inc. continue to inspire girls to take risks, believe in themselves, and become the future leaders of their communities. Outside of her work with Girls Inc., she is passionate about learning and sharing cultural teachings with her family.

Her message to the girls we serve is simple: “Don’t let anyone tell you that you are too much. You are allowed to take up space, speak your mind, and be unapologetically yourself.”
